Avaya ERS: Agent Code Checksum Failed on BOSS

Problem

After restart the switch comes the error:

Agent Code Checksum Failed


Solution

Step 1: Upgrade the Diagnostic Tools.

  • Restart the switch and press CTRL+C to start the Diagnostic Tools.
  • Press 'a' to run Agent code
    Press 'd' to download agent/diag/bootloader code
    Press 'e' to display Errors
    Press 'i' to initialize config flash
    Press 'p' to run POST tests
    Press 'r' to reset the box...
  • From Diagnostic Tools press “d” to download the file via TFTP or USB stick.
  • Download Code to:
    
     1 - Agent Version: (unknown)
     2 - Diagnostics
     3 - Legacy Diagnostics
     4 - Boot-Loader
    
    Select [ <agent> ]: 2
    
     1 - Download via TFTP
     2 - Download via USB Flash
    
    Select [ <tftp> ]: 2
    Enter Filename [ ]: 4000_58001_diag.bin
    (Re)scan USB...
    USB: USB EHCI 1.00
    scanning bus for devices... 2 USB Device(s) found
     scanning bus for storage devices... 1 Storage Device(s) found

  • Reboot the switch.

Step 2: Download the Agent Code (BOSS).

  • After restarting the device, press again “CTRL+C” to start the Diagnostic Tools.
  • From Diagnostic Tools press “d” to download the file via TFTP or USB stick.
  • Download Code to:
    
     1 - Agent Version: (unknown)
     2 - Diagnostics
     3 - Legacy Diagnostics
     4 - Boot-Loader
    
    Select [ <agent> ]: 1
    
     1 - Download via TFTP
     2 - Download via USB Flash
